Internal Use First / Company Operating Platform

Mission Control. The platform we run our company on.

Mission Control runs whole companies. People set the direction and approve what matters. More than 60 AI employees, organized into teams under a 9-seat AI leadership team that reports to them, do the work across every part of the business. It is how a very small team runs what used to take a funded company.

StatusInternal use first

Mission Control runs Farside Research every day. It is not for sale yet, and it is not open source. It is built for us and proven on us, first. Once it is ready, we plan to offer it as a service.

One engine built inside it, the Momentum Engine, is being released on its own under our open source pledge. Mission Control itself stays ours.

The gap

AI tools help people do tasks. Nobody is running the company.

Most companies bolt AI onto a pile of disconnected software and hope the pieces add up. We built the opposite: one system where direction turns into coordinated work, every part of the business shares what it knows, and a person can take the wheel at any moment.

The force multiplier

A small team on the bridge. A whole company below deck.

A handful of people set the course. A standing AI workforce, organized the way a real company is, carries it out in every department at once.

The people at the helm

Set direction, approve what matters, take the wheel at any time.

The operating loop

Decisions go in at the top. Verified results come back up.

The whole company runs as one loop. People decide where it goes, the AI workforce does the work, and nothing moves back up the chain until it is proven.

Why every good process is a loop
  1. People

    Direction

People set the goals, the big bets, and the lines nobody crosses.

  2. AI leadership

    Initiatives and operations

Direction becomes time-boxed initiatives, plus ongoing operations like support or content that never switch off.

  3. AI leadership

    Deliverables

Each one breaks into concrete outcomes. A shipped change, a published report, a signed contract. Not a vague to-do.

  4. AI employees

    Teams

Work lands with the team that owns it. A manager assigns it and specialists do it.

  5. Mission Control

    Verified work

Work only counts with real proof behind it. Claims without evidence go straight back for rework.

  6. People

    Results roll up

Verified results move the goals people are watching.

Results flow back to the people who set the direction

One connected company

Not a stack of silos. One company that shares what it knows.

Every part of the business works from one shared memory and one connected system. A signal in one place shapes the work everywhere it matters, and nobody has to carry it there by hand.

Shared system

Brainiac

Gives every AI employee the same memory of the business. What one team learns, the next task anywhere can use.

Shared system

Conduit

Connects the company's apps and outside tools, so work moves between them without copying and pasting. Anything with real stakes stops until a person signs off.

Humans in command

Autonomous where it helps. People on the bridge where it matters.

We run our own company on this, so we built it to be hard to hurt one with. Trust is given in steps, earned from real results, and taken back just as easily.

Kind of work
  • Changing the AI workforce itselfAlways waits for a person
    Asks first
  • Merging code into the productA person approves the merge
    Asks first
  • Sending outreach to a prospectDrafted, then approved
    Runs, then reviewed
  • Publishing an articleFact-checked, then reviewed
    Runs, then reviewed
  • Researching a competitorDelivered with sources
    Runs on its own
Example settings. Each company chooses its own, one kind of work at a time.

One switch stops everything.

A single emergency stop pauses every AI employee and every background process in the company at once. No exceptions carved out, no hunting for the right setting.

  • Approvals

    Approval where it matters

Sensitive, structural, and destructive actions wait for a person to say yes.

  • Trust

    Trust is earned, not assumed

Every AI employee builds a track record from real outcomes. Good work earns more room. Bad work loses it.

  • Discretion

    What is internal stays internal

Email, social posts, and newsletters are checked before they leave, and internal material is held back.

  • Visibility

    Nothing asks silently

Anything waiting on a person arrives with a notification, so no request sits unseen.

Built to stay upright

It keeps running when things break. And it will not fake a finish.

A workforce that runs day and night has to survive a bad day without a person babysitting it.

  • Repair

It fixes its own stuck work

Work that stalls or falls between teams is found and put back on track, without anyone filing a ticket.

  • Proof

    It fails closed

No proof, no credit. Unverified work is never counted as delivered, however confident the report sounds.

  • Outages

    It rides out provider outages

When an AI provider has a bad hour, work pauses and retries instead of failing, then picks back up when the provider recovers.

  • Restarts

    Interrupted work resumes

An AI employee cut off mid-task picks up where it left off, without losing the work or paying for it twice.

  • Isolation

    Every company is walled off

Each company runs in its own space. What one knows, another cannot see.

  • Restraint

    Nothing destructive by default

Cleanup that deletes anything ships switched off and only watches, until a person decides it should act.

An example day

What a day looks like when the company never clocks out.

An illustration of a normal day. Every team works from the same memory, and people approve what matters.

  1. Research

A competitor briefing is waiting, with sources, before anyone logs in.

  2. Leadership

Overnight results roll up into one view of what moved, what stalled, and what needs a decision.

  3. Marketing

A content brief goes from keyword research to a reviewed draft in the same system.

  4. Engineering

A fix is planned, built, and put through quality checks before a person approves the merge.

  5. Operations

Costs, reliability, and open issues are summarized, and anything unusual is flagged for a person.

  6. Customer success

Questions from customers in other time zones get answered. Anything tricky waits in a person's queue for the morning.

  7. Research

A deep research run on tomorrow's big question starts while nobody is waiting on it.

  8. Operations

An AI provider has a bad hour. Work pauses, retries, and picks back up on its own, and nobody gets woken up.

Questions

Before you ask.

Can I use Mission Control?

Not yet. It is internal use first: it runs Farside Research, and we are proving it on our own company. Once it is ready, we plan to offer it as a service.

Will it be open source?

No, Mission Control stays ours. The Momentum Engine, which was built inside it, is being released on its own under the same open source pledge as StateFrame.

Do AI employees act on their own?

Within the permissions people give them. Anything that matters waits for human approval, and people can pause or take over at any point.

Who is accountable?

People. The people who run the company set the direction, every approval has a name on it, and one switch stops the whole workforce.

What stops it from making a costly mistake?

Approvals on anything sensitive, trust that is earned in steps, spending limits checked before work starts, and a rule that nothing counts as done without proof.

Which AI models does it use?

It works across several model providers, so each job can use the model that fits it.

Built for us. Proven on us.

Mission Control is how Farside Research runs, every day. It stays ours. The Momentum Engine, built inside it, is the one piece we are releasing on its own, under the same open source pledge as StateFrame.
